What Does this ultrasound Result Mean?

conclusion after ultra sound of kidney and bladder: Renal cortical thinning and increased echogenicity consistent with medical renal disease. What does this mean? Lab test are showing increased kidney function declining. Plus GFR keeps fluctuating from 17 to now 14. Thanks.

1.The ultrasound scan report suggest thinning of the renal cortex with increased echo-texture which suggest - possibility of renal functional pathology.
2.In creased echo-texture can be seen in the chronic kidney diseases.
3.In could be infective or inflammatory causes - need to get KFT - kidney function test done for urea, creatinine, protein levels and so on.
4.In some cases renal biopsy might be needed to assess the exact parenchymal condition.
5.An IVU - intravenous urogram to assess the functional status of the kidney.
6.Suggest get further evaluation and treated accordingly - as delay can complicate . Good luck.
